What does the Do Not Enter sign mean in Ontario?

This is a "Do Not Enter" sign: you must not enter this road. It is commonly posted at the exit of a one-way street or a highway off-ramp to stop you from driving into oncoming traffic.
Why the other answers are wrong

No stopping at any time
No Stopping signs are posted in pairs or groups to mark a stretch where you may not stop. This sign blocks the whole road, it does not control stopping.

One-way traffic ahead
A one-way sign uses an arrow to show the single direction traffic may travel. This red sign points nowhere, it simply tells you this road is closed to you.

Road ends ahead
Warnings about what the road does ahead come on yellow diamonds. Red and white signs like this one are regulatory: they give an order you must obey right now.
Quick way to remember
A red sign with one solid white bar is a flat prohibition.
